Verizon Customer? Here's $20 for Your Troubles...

The company offers further help if you need it.

If you're one of the 146 million Verizon customers across the U.S. and were impacted by Thursday's outage, a) they're sorry; b) they'd like to give you $20 for your trouble.

"Yesterday, we did not meet the standard of excellence our customers expect and that we expect of ourselves," the company wrote in its mea culpa.

"To help provide some relief to those affected, we will give them a $20 account credit that can be easily redeemed by logging into the myVerizon app to accept. On average, this covers multiple days of service. Customers will receive a text message when the credit is available in the app. Our business customers will be contacted directly about their credits."

It's actually refreshing when a company this big goes hat-in-hand to admit "my bad" and doesn't cop a "who, us?" attitude.

"This credit isn’t meant to make up for what happened. No credit really can. But it’s a way of acknowledging our customers' time and showing that this matters to us."

Good for them.

Still having problems?

The company said that if customers are still experiencing issues, it encourages them to restart their devices to reconnect to the network. That's probably all it will take, but if it isn't, just contact Verizon. 1.800. Verizon (1-800-837-4966)
