Get Ready – The Medicare Ad Avalanche Is Coming
Why the surge in ads?
The Annual Enrollment Period is when seniors can switch plans. We've seen this before: insurers, brokers, and marketers flood the airwaves to capture attention. But, this year, there's new broker payment rules, rising premiums, targeted SNPs, and expanded benefits all contribute.
Greed? Uh, possibly. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) increased the maximum payments agents and brokers can receive starting with 2025 plans. The idea was to reduce shady sales practices by giving brokers fairer, standardized pay. But the side effect is more incentive to sell harder — and more ads from the companies that hire them.
